Former National Farmers Leaders Pass Away

Leander Wagner, Elko, Minnesota passed away November 4. He was 88 years old. Wagner inspired multiple generations of farmers to join the organization through his decades of involvement.

He was a former member of National Farmers board of directors, and was active in Knights of Columbus and the New Prague, Minnesota American Legion. Wagner is survived by his six children, 13 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Earl James Schaad, Beverly, Ohio passed away November 25. He was 97. Schaad was an inspiration to his family as well as National Farmers members.

The Ohio native was a proud member of National Farmers, where he served as president in Morgan, and later Washington counties for more than 20 years. He served on National Farmers state board for ten years.

He attended numerous National Farmers national conventions and always moved audiences when he spoke.

Joseph Hamm, Saukville, Wisconsin peacefully passed away November 7. He was 91. Hamm and his family have been long-standing members of National Farmers, along with several other farm organizations. Joe and his brother, Bill, milked cows on their dairy farm, which is now operated by their sons and other family members.
