The Frescuras are aligned with National Farmers and supply milk to Horizon. They recently switched their insurance to Agri-Services Agency, realizing significant savings with improved coverage.
The roots of Frescura Farm trace back to 1948, when Todd’s grandfather, Roy Kemerer, purchased the original farmland. The operation transitioned to Todd in 2008, marking the third generation of family leadership.

Frescura Farm gained support from the Westmoreland Conservation District and the Natural Resources Conservation Service to advance the farm organically. At a pasture walk in June, sponsored by Penn State Cooperative Extension, the farm’s operations were on full display, showing how organizations including the U.S. Department of Agriculture can come together to help one farm achieve ideal sustainability.
The pasture walk featured streambank fencing, stabilized walkways, buffer zones and a nutrient management plan. Todd also spoke of plans to incorporate a three-acre pollinator buffer zone between his property and his neighbor’s.
The Frescuras’ commitment to sustainability has helped set the farm apart, earning them respect from neighbors, consumers, local organizations and industry leaders. Nearly 50 attendees from the agricultural community left the pasture walk impressed and inspired by the farm’s operation. It was clear Todd has a desire to leave the land better than he found it.
When asked about his ASA insurance savings, Todd said, “I saved 80 percent on auto insurance and actually increased my coverage!” He not only found better coverage with savings on auto insurance, but also additional savings on the farm package portion of the policy, along with more comprehensive coverage.
In addition to creating tailored insurance plans, ASA offers accessible and personalized service. From initial on-farm visits to interactive training, enrollment meetings and 24/7 customer support, ASA is committed to helping Frescura Farm secure the right coverage. ASA has 24/7 live customer support and decades of experience in agricultural risk. ASA can be your advocate — working to help you minimize risk, protect your operation and access competitive benefits.

With their conservation practices, community engagement and now more strategic insurance coverage, the Frescuras are better positioned than ever to weather the challenges of modern agriculture. Their story offers a model for other farmers navigating a rapidly evolving industry — proof that strategic changes, like switching to ASA, can yield real results without compromising core values.
As Todd looks across the pasture where his herd grazes on rotational plots, he knows the decisions he’s made about soil, stewardship and finances are all part of building a legacy.
