New Human Resources Administrator Osier Joins Home Office Team
Shelley Osier joined National Farmers’ as Human Resources and Payroll Administrator in Ames, Iowa, in October, bringing a wealth of experience in her profession.
“I love payroll, and I like math, but I like people, so the mix of the position at National Farmers appeals to me,” Shelley said. She welcomes input on what works well for employees. “I like to help people and to hear ideas and constructive suggestions.”
In past roles, she’s assisted with open enrollment for insurance, incentive and recognition programs, in addition to handling payroll. At her immediately previous position for an Ames CPA firm, Shelley focused on a payroll services affiliate. This meant working with about 80 companies. “Everyone had slightly different practices,” she said. The company helped small businesses such as grocery stores, restaurants, banks, insurance agencies, builders and more.
Shelley and her husband, Tom, own a MATCO tool truck, and his days are spent growing the business. Their son, Corey, and his wife, Haley, have a daughter, Tenley, two years old, and a son, MJ, three months old. “I love being a grandma,” Shelley said.
Shelley loves to dance, and see off-Broadway shows. And she admits to watching reality TV – and loving it.
Shelley and Tom enjoy trips with friends to Wisconsin’s Long Lake, the Walleye Capital of Wisconsin, where they snowmobile in the winter and enjoy the water and other recreation in the summer. The couple also rides their Harley-Davidson motorcycles together and join in hot rod car tours and shows with Tom’s 1967 GTO and 1978 Trans Am, and Shelley’s 1991 Camaro and 1963 Renault Caravelle.
